This is the first dedicated design hire for an early-stage neurotechnology company. You won't be inheriting a design system or style guide β you'll be building them from scratch. You'll work directly with the founding team to own the full design surface: from early concept exploration through shipped product. The company is building a genuinely new product category in the cognitive health space that doesn't have an established design language yet. You'll shape what gets built, not just how it looks.
Own the full product design surface from concept to production
Build design systems and style guides for a nascent product category
Stress-test design ideas with real users and iterate based on feedback
Ship production-ready designs that hold up at scale
Work closely with founders on product strategy and direction
Make strong design decisions and push back when something doesn't feel right

The ideal candidate is a bit of a mad artistβsomeone who takes risks, challenges conventions, brings a multidisciplinary perspective, and is deeply curious about design problems.
Competitive salary, equity package, benefits, and flexible PTO.
Early-stage startup role (work arrangement and specific location not specified in posting).
