Technical Recruiter — AI Infrastructure | San Francisco | $110K–$130K Base (OTE: $110K–$330K) + Equity - 27778380

We're partnering with one of the fastest-growing AI infrastructure companies in the country to find their next Technical Recruiter. This is a rare, high-ownership role where you'll be one of the first recruiting hires — working directly alongside the Head of Talent to build the engineering team powering frontier AI data infrastructure. If you've been waiting for the right opportunity to own something real at a company that actually matters, this is it.

The Opportunity

This isn't a support role and it isn't a coordinator seat. You'll own full-cycle technical recruiting end-to-end — sourcing, screening, closing — across AI, infrastructure, and full-stack engineering roles. You'll partner directly with founders and hiring managers, build sourcing pipelines and outbound sequences from scratch, and iterate fast in a high-intensity environment where autonomy is the default. The ideal candidate has come up through a recruiting agency or a high-growth startup and knows how to talk to engineers, move quickly, and operate without a playbook.

What You'll Own

·       Full-cycle recruiting for technical roles: sourcing, screening, coordinating, and closing

·       High-quality outbound sourcing pipelines for top engineering talent across AI, infrastructure, and full-stack disciplines

·       Direct partnership with founders and hiring managers on role requirements, interview loops, and hiring strategy

·       Recruiting sequences, candidate experience workflows, and outreach tooling — built and iterated from scratch

·       Funnel metrics ownership: response rates, pass-through rates, time-to-hire, and continuous improvement

Compensation — Built to Reward Performance

This is one of the most aggressive compensation packages in technical recruiting — structured to reward people who close.

Details

💰 Base Salary

$110,000 – $130,000

🎯 On-Target Earnings (OTE)

$110,000 – $330,000

📈 Upside Potential

Up to 3x base for top performers

🏷️ Equity

Competitive equity package at a VC-backed AI company

How the variable comp works: The OTE range reflects a performance-based structure where your earnings scale directly with your output. At the low end, you're covering base. At the high end — $330,000 — you're a top-performing closer in a high-velocity recruiting environment. This isn't a stretch goal built to look good on paper; it's a realistic ceiling for a recruiter who owns a full pipeline and closes consistently in a competitive engineering market.

Why the equity matters: This is a Series A-stage AI infrastructure company backed by top-tier venture capital. Early employees at companies like this — particularly those in foundational roles — have historically seen significant equity upside as companies scale toward Series B and beyond. The equity you receive today is priced at the earliest available stage.

What We're Looking For

·       1–3 years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience — agency or high-growth startup strongly preferred

·       Demonstrated ability to source and close engineers in a competitive market

·       Comfort with ambiguity — you don't need a process handed to you; you build it

·       Fluency in technical conversations — you can hold your own with engineering candidates and hiring managers

·       Proficiency with Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter, and email sequencing tools

·       High ownership mindset: you ramp fast, operate independently, and take accountability for outcomes

·       Must be based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco, CA — this role is onsite 5 days/week

️ Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this role. All candidates must be authorized to work in the US.

Profiles We Love to See

We're looking for candidates with experience at companies where recruiting is fast, technical, and high-stakes. Strong backgrounds include:

Technical Recruiting Agencies Hirewell · Riviera Partners · TriSearch · Betts Recruiting · Recruiting from Scratch · True Search · Hunt Club · Kofi Group

High-Growth AI/ML & Data Infrastructure Companies Scale AI · Anthropic · Replit · Cohere · Anyscale · Weights & Biases · Hugging Face · Modal Labs · Databricks

YC-Backed & High-Growth Startups with Small Recruiting Teams Retool · Ramp · Mercury · Rippling · Brex · Vercel · Supabase · PostHog

If your background is adjacent to any of these — a similar-stage company, a comparable recruiting function — we still want to hear from you.

Profiles That Are Not a Fit

We are specifically not looking for candidates whose recruiting experience is exclusively from large, process-heavy enterprise organizations. If your entire background is in a slow-moving, high-headcount tech org where recruiting is highly structured and committee-driven, this role will likely feel like a mismatch — and we want to be upfront about that.

Companies that signal this profile include: IBM · Cisco · Intel · Google · Meta · Amazon · Microsoft · Apple · Oracle

Experience at these companies is not disqualifying on its own — but candidates who have only worked in big tech recruiting environments, without startup or agency exposure, are unlikely to thrive in this role.

Why This Role Stands Out

Founding impact — one of the first recruiting hires at a company building frontier AI infrastructure

Direct founder access — you'll partner with leadership from day one, not work through layers

Exceptional compensation — base up to $130K with OTE potential reaching $330K plus meaningful early-stage equity

Career trajectory — early-stage roles like this define careers; the people who build the function become the leaders who run it

Interview Process

1.    Intro call with the Head of Talent (30 minutes) — culture fit, ambiguity tolerance, ability to ramp

2.    Interview with the Chief of Staff (30 minutes) — culture and operational mindset alignment

3.    Optional take-home assessment (~1 hour) — sourcing and sequence-building exercise

4.    Super Day on-site (full day) — live sourcing, building sequences, and working in a real environment

Ready to Apply?

If you're a technically fluent recruiter with agency or startup DNA who wants to build something from the ground up at one of the most exciting companies in AI infrastructure, we want to hear from you.
