Our client, a prestigious AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking an experienced Sr. Associate Attorney to join their Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Patent Prosecution Practice Group. This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated attorney to work on cutting-edge technologies and high-value patent portfolios for a sophisticated client base.

 

 

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
  • Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing.
  • 6+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience at a law firm of comparable rank.
  • Undergraduate or Advanced Degree in one of the following is required:
    • Electrical Engineering,
    • Computer Engineering,
    • Software Engineering,
    • Computer Science, or
    • Physics.
  • USPTO Admission is required.
  • Significant experience drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent applications, ideally related to graphics processing units, tensor processing units, accelerators, neural engines, robotics circuitry, and actuators.
  • Ability to quickly master and communicate complex technical subject matter.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and supervising junior attorneys or patent agents.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional writing, analytical, and communication skills are essential.
 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications covering advanced electrical and software-related technologies.
  • Manage patent prosecution projects for a sophisticated, global client base.
  • Provide guidance, oversight, and mentorship to junior attorneys and patent agents.
  • Align patent strategies with client innovation and business objectives.
  • Collaborate across offices and practice groups to deliver integrated intellectual property solutions.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to clients on portfolio development and protection.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: Includes an annual salary range of $245,000–$390,000, depending on experience and market factors, in addition to eligibility for a discretionary bonus.
