Our client is an AI startup shaking up the insurance industry and they’re hiring a Founding Recruiter to build the talent engine from zero to scale. This is a true 0→1 role where you’ll own recruiting end-to-end and partner directly with the founding team during a major growth phase.

Own full-cycle recruiting across engineering, product, and go-to-market roles, managing 8–12 active searches
Design and execute a scalable hiring strategy to support 4x team growth
Source, engage, and close top-tier talent, delivering 10–15 hires per year in competitive markets
Build and refine recruiting processes end-to-end: job scoping, sourcing, interviews, and candidate experience
Partner with leadership on headcount planning, org design, and long-term talent strategy
Drive diverse and inclusive hiring practices that expand the talent pool
Provide real-time market intel on compensation, competitors, and talent trends
Manage multiple sourcing channels: direct sourcing, agencies, investor networks, and tools like Ashby, Gem, HireEZ, etc.
Define, track, and optimize recruiting metrics: time-to-fill, conversion rates, source of hire
Own employer branding and storytelling, helping candidates buy into the mission, momentum, and equity upside
Grow into building and leading the recruiting function as the company scales
5–10 years of full-cycle recruiting experience in high-growth startups (Series A–E preferred)
Strong track record of hiring across technical and GTM roles
Experience building recruiting functions from scratch or operating in true 0→1 environments
Fluent with modern ATS and sourcing tools (Greenhouse, Ashby, Gem, HireEZ)
Data-driven and operationally sharp you measure, iterate, and improve
A strong closer who knows how to sell vision, mission, and opportunity
Comfortable in fast-moving, ambiguous environments (you don’t wait for instructions)
Scrappy, hands-on, and allergic to unnecessary bureaucracy
Build and shape the recruiting function at a category-defining AI company
Work directly with founders and execs on talent and growth strategy
Own the entire recruiting engine with real influence across the business
Help scale a company redefining AI + insurance
