About Opal

Opal is the only company building the financial infrastructure behind modern advertising. Every year, brands and agencies move close to a trillion dollars through paid media channels, but the systems managing that spend are outdated, fragmented, and misaligned with how marketing actually works. Credit limits lag behind growth. Finance teams lack platform to platform visibility. Agencies front capital they shouldn’t have to. Everyone wastes time reconciling chaos at month-end.

Opal’s platform fixes this. We give agencies and advertisers a smarter way to fund, control, and track paid media spend using unlimited virtual cards, real-time guardrails, no hassle cashback and built-in workflows designed specifically for marketing and agency ecosystems. A modern Financial company built for the advertising industry - first of its kind.

We’re backed by major financial partners, growing quickly, and solving a problem that gets more painful as companies scale. If you’re excited by real money, real workflows, and a product that sits at the intersection of finance, marketing, and operations - Opal is the place to build.

Why this role exists

We have strong early product-market fit and real customer pull.

Now we need to define how Opal shows up in the market - clearly, aggressively, and in a way that wins.

You’ll own marketing end-to-end, working directly with the founder. This is a first marketing hire / zero-to-one role.

Responsibilities

  • Own inbound pipeline. Nothing else matters.

Your job is to generate a high volume of qualified inbound leads. We don’t care how you do it - events, conferences, SEO, paid ads, UGC, partnerships, outbound-driven plays, or something no one else is doing. Find what works, scale it aggressively, and kill what doesn’t.

  • Make Opal the default card for companies buying ads

When a company spends on ads, Opal should be the obvious choice. Drive the awareness and distribution required to make that happen.

  • Own positioning and messaging

Take a complex fintech product (credit, payments, spend management) and make it simple, clear, and compelling for agencies.

  • Ship and iterate on GTM constantly

Launch campaigns, test channels, run experiments. Move fast. No overplanning - just execution and learning.

  • Drive growth with extreme ownership

Identify high-performing channels, double down hard, and continuously push for more efficient acquisition.

  • Work directly with founders, product, and sales

Tight feedback loops. You help shape the narrative, influence the product, and ensure we’re aligned with how customers actually buy.

  • Do whatever it takes to create demand

That could mean content, sending the team to the right conferences, building partnerships, or inventing entirely new plays. There is no fixed playbook.

  • Enable the team to close

Create the messaging, materials, and angles that help turn interest into revenue.

  • Be ruthlessly metrics-driven

Track what actually drives customers. Ignore vanity metrics. Optimize for pipeline and revenue.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in marketing, ideally in B2B SaaS, fintech, or payments

  • Experience in a high-growth or early-stage startup (0→1 or 1→10 preferred)

  • Proven ability to own marketing end-to-end (strategy + execution)

  • Strong track record of driving measurable growth outcomes (pipeline, revenue,

  • activation)

  • Exceptional messaging and storytelling ability

  • Able to distill complex products into clear, differentiated narratives

  • Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies for non-trivial products

  • Highly cross-functional

  • Comfortable working closely with product, sales, and leadership teams

  • Strong data-driven mindset

  • Able to analyze performance and make fast, high-quality decisions

  • Bias toward action and experimentation

  • You don’t wait for perfect - you ship, learn, and iterate

Strong signals (nice-to-haves)

  • Experience in fintech, payments, credit, or financial products

  • Experience selling into agencies or service businesses

  • Background in PLG or hybrid sales-led motions

  • You’ve been the first marketing hire or operated like one

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary + meaningful equity

  • Health, dental, vision

  • 2 meals per day in office

  • In-office, high-velocity environment

  • Direct ownership of a critical company function
