Position Overview:

The Human Resources Generalist reports to the Director of People & Culture and will be asked to perform a variety of HR functions ranging from recruitment, employee relations, maintaining company culture, benefits, payroll, and administrative work.  Building strong connections with the staff, setting them up for success and ensuring an inviting and fun place to work. 

This is an exempt salaried position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, interview, onboard and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Implement and coordinate employee recognition programs and events.
  • Coordinate open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs.
  • Assist with payroll processing.
  • Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company polices.
  • Monitor employee morale and company culture.
  • Maintain accurate employee records.
  • Coordinate Hotel Philanthropic events.
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2+ years Human Resource management experience is preferred.
  • Proven success working in an HR department.
  • Experience with HRIS systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams).
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations related to employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including Holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Annual Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000
