Bayview Hunters Point Foundation is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team. We are currently seeking a Dispensing Nurse for our methadone clinic and in the local jails.

Today, BVHPF’s nearly 200 employees serve over 5,000 disadvantaged clients each year. Our programs include:

  • Mental health counseling for youth and adults
  • School-based mental health services
  • Substance abuse counseling and methadone treatment
  • Family transitional and supportive housing
  • Rapid rehousing and flex pool housing programs
  • Case management services at several homeless and housing programs
  • Bayview SAFE Navigation Center

Position Overview:


Bayview Hunters Point Foundation is currently in search of a Dispensing Nurse to provide essential care to our clients within our methadone clinic, situated in the vibrant Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco. In addition, the role may encompass medication dispensing responsibilities within the San Francisco and San Bruno correctional facilities. We welcome applications from Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Registered Nurses (RNs). This is a full-time, exempt position with reporting responsibilities to the Assistant Director of Substance Use Disorder Services (SUDS).

Requirements
  • Administer prescribed medications, including Methadone and Suboxone, to patients in an outpatient clinic and/or jail dosing environment in compliance with program policy and medical protocols
  • Manage medication inventory
  • Maintain dispensing equipment
  • Maintain electronic medical records as required
  • Collaborate with SUDS and mental health treatment teams to provide effective, compassionate care to clients
  • Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of SUDS

Qualifications:

  • Current and active license as an LPN/LVN or RN in the State of California
  • Current certification in CPR or ability to achieve certification upon employment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing electronic medical records
  • Experience in substance abuse services preferred, but not required
  • Must have a clean DMV record
