As the world’s largest car-sharing marketplace, Turo is growing, and we’re hiring in the San Francisco Bay Area. We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer on our Host Experience team who brings exceptional taste and a high craft bar, turning complex operational problems into experiences that feel simple, confident, and intuitive across native mobile and web.

At Turo, exceptional design is a driving force behind the end-to-end marketplace experience, shaping not only what we build, but how it feels and performs at scale. Many of our top priorities are seeded through research insights or a design-led vision, and designers play a meaningful role in influencing product strategy and direction.

Craft quality carries through implementation, supported by close partnership across product, engineering, and research. The work is elevated through thoughtful critique and deliberate iteration, grounded in empathy and kindness. Designers have a strong voice in how the experience looks, behaves, and expresses the Turo brand across consumer-facing and business-critical surfaces.

Product work is shaped by real user and business problems, and designers frequently partner with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to carry design thinking through key moments of the host journey.

What you will do

As a Senior Product Designer on the Host team, you’ll shape high-quality, intuitive product experiences that directly impact how Turo’s entrepreneurial hosts run and grow their businesses. You’ll design core workflows across listings, pricing, communication, and operations, turning complex marketplace and operational problems into experiences that feel simple, confident, and intuitive across iOS, Android, and web.

You’ll partner closely with product managers, researchers, engineers, data analysts, and fellow designers, including senior and lead designers, and take responsibility for design work within clearly scoped problem spaces. From discovery and ideation through interaction design, testing, and final visual polish, you’ll deliver thoughtful, production-ready solutions that balance craft excellence with measurable business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Design intuitive, high-utility product experiences that simplify complex operational workflows and improve host efficiency, confidence, and earnings.

  • Lead design work for features and product areas within your scope, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners from early exploration through delivery.

  • Design clear, scalable interaction and interface patterns grounded in marketplace dynamics, pricing logic, and operational constraints.

  • Use qualitative research, experimentation, and data insights to inform design decisions and improve product quality and outcomes.

  • Define success metrics with your partners and measure the impact of your work on host behavior, satisfaction, and business performance.

  • Design tools and workflows that support real entrepreneurs running real businesses, balancing power, flexibility, and ease of use.

  • Raise the craft bar through strong interaction design, visual refinement, and attention to detail, while reducing complexity and design debt.

  • Communicate design thinking, rationale, and tradeoffs clearly, and incorporate feedback through thoughtful iteration.

  • Design systemically and contribute back to shared components, patterns, and design standards.

  • Model Turo’s design principles, collaborative culture, and a high bar for ownership and execution.

Your profile

  • Exceptional interaction and visual design skills, with a strong portfolio demonstrating thoughtful, well-crafted product work.

  • 8+ years of experience designing and shipping high-quality mobile and web products.

  • Experience designing complex workflows or systems and turning ambiguity into clear, intuitive user experiences.

  • Experience partnering closely with user researchers to shape studies, learn from qualitative and quantitative research, and apply insights to design decisions.

  • A data-informed mindset, with a track record of using insights and metrics to elevate design quality and product outcomes.

  • A collaborative, low-ego approach with the ability to communicate your thinking clearly and influence cross-functional partners.

  • Strong judgment, adaptability, and a bias toward thoughtful execution in fast-moving environments.
