Autodesk's Digital Experience Engineering team is looking for an experienced Senior engineer who is passionate about building and delivering innovative solutions into our common platform with us.

As part of the Horizontal Capabilities Engineering team, you will implement exciting features that engage and influence Autodesk customers worldwide. Our team faces a variety of unique and interesting challenges, from implementing important services, building tools and components using cutting edge technologies, experiments and creating new and engaging end-user search and content experiences, to digging into low-level performance details and streamlining processes.

As someone, you have working on teams developing modern cloud-based, AI/ML driven services, in a fast-paced, agile environment. You should know how to build, guide teams, while inspiring them to remain at the cutting edge with us. You will have opportunity to improve developer productivity with advanced tools and process. As core part of the team, you will report to a Software Development Manager and it's a hybrid work mode.

Responsibilities

  • You will design, code, test, debug, document new and existing components to ensure that software meets business, quality and operational needs

  • Build high quality code following unit testing and test-driven development

  • Create and participate in code, document reviews, mentoring juniors in best practices

  • Collaborate with architects, DevOps, Support and product organizations on technical issues

  • Interpret and translate business needs to technical requirements and accurate estimates

  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to ensure the highest quality and performance is achieved

  • Work with team to troubleshoot code level problems

  • Apply deep technical expertise to resolve challenging programming and design problems

  • Contribute to the design and architecture to allow secure, scalable, and maintainable software

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • 5–8 years of professional software development experience

  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Node.js, or Python, along with experience in front-end development using React.js

  • Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design and implementation

  • Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick, informed decisions

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data pipeline architectures and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Flink, and Spark is a strong plus

  • Strong understanding of data transformation techniques and performance tuning for scalable systems is highly desired

  • Familiarity with AI/ML integration and tools or practices that enhance developer productivity is a plus

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $117,000 and $209,330. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
