Salary: $150,000 – $250,000 + Equity

Our client is a leading venture capital firm known for backing some of the most successful technology companies globally. Their portfolio includes category-defining businesses across AI, developer tools, infrastructure, and SaaS, many of which are in high-growth phases and actively scaling their engineering teams.

This opportunity connects top engineering talent with multiple high-performing, venture-backed startups. Candidates will be matched with companies based on their experience, interests, and strengths—offering exposure to some of the most exciting early-stage and growth-stage opportunities in the market.

What You Will Do

  • Design, build, and scale software systems across the full stack (backend, frontend, or infrastructure)
  • Take ownership of critical product features from concept to production
  • Collaborate closely with founders, product managers, and designers to define product direction
  • Build systems that directly impact users, growth, and business outcomes
  • Contribute to high-velocity engineering cultures within small, collaborative teams
  • Continuously learn and apply new technologies to solve complex technical challenges

Ideal Candidate Background

  • 3–10 years of software engineering experience
  • Strong experience building and shipping production-grade software systems
  • Background in high-growth, venture-backed startups or high-talent-density environments
  • Proven ability to own features or systems end-to-end
  • Strong coding skills in languages such as Python, TypeScript, Go, Rust, or C++
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
  • Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco or New York

Preferred

  • Experience with AI/ML systems or data-intensive applications
  • Background at top-tier startups or companies with strong engineering cultures (e.g., OpenAI, Figma, early Uber)
  • Founding engineer or founder experience
  • Experience in research labs or highly technical environments
  • Strong academic background in Computer Science or related fields

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive base salary: $150,000 – $250,000
  • Equity: typically 0.1% – 1% depending on company and stage
