Location: San Francisco, CA
Type: Full-Time
Team: Design Systems & Devices

As a Staff Content Designer on our Design Systems & Devices team, you’ll be directly embedded in projects across our global UX organization, writing clear, effective product copy that helps users discover content and learn effectively on our platform.

While your primary focus will be creating copy for products, flows, and features, you’ll also help shape the bigger picture by contributing to our voice and tone standards, UX storytelling guidance, and content best practices. Your work will make our products more intuitive, consistent, and accessible for people in 19 languages across the globe.

About you

  • You’re highly collaborative and have a humble (low-ego) approach to creating and sharing content ideas.
  • You’re open-minded and always looking to learn more about content design, UX, and the ed tech industry, and you’re eager to try out new methods in your work.
  • You’re capable of actively managing your time and collaborating across multiple time zones.
  • You champion the user in every project while balancing stakeholder input and business goals.
  • You regularly and clearly articulate your content design decisions and the information and insights that informed them.
  • You have experience leveraging design systems and content standards to reduce the cost of shipping products across platforms while maintaining a cohesive user and brand experience.
  • You can contribute to and collaborate with design partners to move high-priority projects toward delivery in a fast-paced, agile environment.

What you’ll do

  • Write user-facing product copy across web and native apps, from buttons and error messages to onboarding flows and in-product education.
  • Collaborate closely with product designers, researchers, engineers, and localization teams to ensure content is clear, consistent, and easy to translate across markets.
  • Balance product and brand voice, ensuring copy aligns with both user needs and our identity.
  • Apply accessibility and usability best practices to all copy, ensuring inclusivity and compliance with global standards.
  • Contribute to content standards and guidelines (voice and tone, terminology, storytelling approaches) that scale across teams.
  • Document patterns and guidance in our design system so other designers and writers can build on your work.
  • Advocate for content design across the org, demonstrating the impact of thoughtful, user-centered language.

What you’ll have

  • 8+ years of experience in content design, UX writing, or product copywriting, with a proven track record on large-scale consumer or B2B products.
  • A strong portfolio of user-facing copy that demonstrates clarity, empathy, and craft.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and experience applying them in digital product contexts.
  • Skilled in UX storytelling—able to simplify complex ideas and guide users through tasks with confidence.
  • Comfortable collaborating in multidisciplinary, global teams and working with localization partners.
  • Proactive, flexible, and able to balance hands-on writing with higher-level system contributions.
  • Experience supporting content across multilingual or international platforms.
  • Familiarity with design systems and content governance.
  • Ability to mentor and influence peers, helping elevate content quality across the organization.

We understand that not everyone will match each of the above qualifications. However, we also realize that everyone has unique experiences that can add value to our company. Even if you think your background might not perfectly align, we'd love to hear from you!
