Underwriter

We are seeking an Underwriter for our Excess Casualty group in San Francisco. 

• Produce new business opportunities within the territory.
• Evaluate, select, underwrite, price, quote and maintain new and renewal business.
• Develop and implement marketing plans with Excess Casualty National Accounts Management.
• Retain accounts through active participation in Chubb Stewardship process.
• Adhere to Chubb standards on pricing and servicing.
• Participate in product line projects as required.
• Oversee & execute on various operational tasks
• The individual will manage new business pipeline. This includes:
  • Maintaining monthly, quarterly & year end production goals.
  • Ensuring proper progress and strategies to close new business are maintained.
• The individual will be a key liaison between Chubb Global Casualty Foreign and Domestic lines of business and ensure strategies and efforts are coordinated.

• We welcome candidates with transferable skills—prior experience in excess casualty is a plus, but not required.
• College degree in insurance, business or related fields or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of professional experience, and/or insurance knowledge. 
• Superior communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills.
• Superior analytical skills needed to evaluate risk
• Excellent sales and marketing skills.

The pay range for the role is $110,900 to $149,760. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.  Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, more details on which can be found on our careers website.  The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
