PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Full Cycle Accountant position is responsible for processing various key accounting functions with an initial primary focus on cash receipts and revenue, and will serve as back up for managing accounts payable and related activities. This person collaborates with Fundraising staff to support and achieve the goals of BGCSF. The Full Cycle Accountant meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as maintaining accuracy and attention to detail, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and actively participating in meetings. A successful candidate will thrive working in a tech-savvy, fast-paced environment, with complex accounting structures and systems.
KEY ROLES (ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES):
Accounting Functions - 70%
- Manage the processing of grant invoicing and cash receipts. Utilize tracking spreadsheets, report forms, and grantor online systems for invoicing.
- Liaise with the fundraising department to ensure all foundation and government grant information and documentation is accurate and current.
- Monitor monthly Accounts Receivable Aging reports and follow up on past-due balances.
- Manage earned income and ensure timely billing and collection thereof.
- Manage the reconciliation of year-to-date contribution cash receipts with the development department monthly.
- Serve as backup in overseeing Accounts Payable.
- Oversee and review reconciliation of various revenue-related balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy of account balances.
- Co-manage revenue of month-end close as well as maintain accounting ledgers and create journal entries.
- Assist with streamlining and maintaining grants tracking.
Reporting- 15%
- Manage production of monthly reports showing year-to-date reconciliation of contributions with the development department.
- Produce monthly rental income excel report for management’s review.
- Generate and ensure accuracy of ad hoc reports for cost center managers, various departments and Finance Leadership as needed.
- Assist Fundraising Department with budget creation and reporting needed for grant proposals and grant reporting.
- Produce revenue and other dashboards.
- Review monthly budget to actual reports to ensure grant billing remains timely and on track.
Relationships - 15%
- Actively work with the Camp department to ensure smooth collaboration between the two departments. (Rentals, camp fees, reporting, etc.)
- Work with Fundraising staff to reconcile the Development Donor software system to the Accounting system. Ensure that all cash receipts are coded timely and accurately.
- Work with Cost Center Managers to timely process and reconcile their cash receipts, grant spending, and all applicable Clubhouse rentals.
- Maintain relationships with constituents and external partners in the event of questions/ needed reports.
SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination of related education and work experience, with a focus on accounting and/or finance.
- Strong grasp of basic mathematical functions
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and debits and credits
- Excellent proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets
- Intermediate ability with Google Suite
- Strong grasp of spelling and grammar in communications
SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE PREFERRED:
- Accounting experience in a non-profit organization, with a working understanding of non-profit accounting
- Excellent people skills, able to consistently communicate in a professional, respectful manner
- Works well and quickly under pressure in a demanding and fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Outstanding organization and planning abilities
- Able to handle multiple tasks, not easily distracted, and able to see tasks to completion
- Ability to consistently use discretion and maintain confidentiality
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 15 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for at least 1 hour consecutively.
- Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.

Pay
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and BGCSF needs. At BGCSF, our decisions are based on other factors and dependant on circumstances for each position. Depending on the need and requirement of the position, an individual could be hired at or near the entry level, mid - level or top of the range for their role and compensation. As such, a reasonable estimate of the current range is $68,000 to $73,000 annually.
