Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership & Compliance
- Partner with site management teams to align HR initiatives with operational goals, ensuring each site achieves excellence through its people.
- Maintain compliant, accurate employee records and oversee HR processes, audits, and compliance programs (OSHA, IIPP, DOT, FMLA, harassment prevention, etc.).
- Stay current on federal and state employment laws, supporting each location with compliant postings, policies, and employee communications.
- Collaborate with HR leadership to continuously improve and modernize HR processes, policies, and documentation across all subsidiaries.
Talent Acquisition, Onboarding & Retention
- Support recruitment and hiring efforts by assisting with candidate screening, particularly for Spanish-speaking applicants, and coordinating local recruiting initiatives.
- Deliver exceptional onboarding experiences that make new hires feel welcomed, informed, and excited to join the team.
- Partner with site leadership to ensure seamless offboarding and positive employee transitions that protect company integrity and reputation.
Timekeeping, Payroll & Benefits Support
- Ensure accurate and timely time tracking, approvals, and PTO management across multiple sites.
- Provide employee and manager support for timecard corrections and payroll inquiries.
- Assist employees with benefit questions, enrollments, and updates — including translation and explanation for Spanish-speaking team members.
Employee Relations, Engagement & Culture
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers, providing guidance, resources, and clarity on HR policies and best practices.
- Support management in resolving employee relations matters with fairness, consistency, and compliance.
- Champion engagement initiatives that strengthen culture, connection, and communication across diverse teams and locations.
- Collaborate with leadership to deliver internal communications, newsletters, recognition programs, and company events that reinforce our people-first culture.
Training, Development & Safety Coordination
- Coordinate and track employee training and certifications (OSHA, DOT, DOL, etc.), ensuring compliance and continuous learning.
- Partner with field and safety leaders to schedule safety trainings and support Cal-OSHA documentation needs.
- Encourage professional growth by supporting leadership and skill development opportunities across all levels.
Other Responsibilities
- Provide backup HR coverage during absences or high-volume periods.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to improve HR operations, employee experience, and organizational performance.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of HR Generalist experience.
- At least 1 year of payroll or timecard management experience.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with HRIS systems (BambooHR preferred), timekeeping, and benefits platforms.
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Must maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Work Environment
- 100% Remote (must have reliable internet and a quiet workspace).
- Full-time, non-exempt position.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Flexibility in working hours to meet business needs.
