In this role you will:

  • Build and maintain customer relationships with an already established client base and develop new sales opportunities within those accounts.
  • Communicate continually with Field Sales regarding customers.
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal Steven Engineering staff to identify and evaluate customer requirements and solve issues.
  • Generate sales with new customers.
  • Create contracts, special stock and pricing programs.
  • Develop product-based knowledge and promotes to our customers.
  • Handle incoming requests via phone, email and other business media.
  • Perform sales activities to ensure superior levels of customer service.
  • Utilize manufacturer’s websites for product information.
  • Specify and promote products for customer needs.
  • Provide technical and application assistance when applicable.
  • Attend ongoing training seminars.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience required.
  • 2 years of account management or sales experience preferred. 
  • Industry experience is a plus, preferably with Distribution.
  • Aptitude towards learning new software and web-based resources.
  • Must be able to work comfortably with Outlook & Excel.
  • Proven capability to interface with wide variety of customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary.  Bilingual language ability a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to multi-task and manage time efficiently.
  • Results of work will be organized, detail oriented and accurate.
  • Outstanding attendance is essential.
  • Outgoing personality preferred.
  • Professional appearance and attitude is a must.
  • A strong desire to work within the sales industry needed.
  • Must have strong career driven aspirations.
  • Pneumatics, mechanical and/or electrical technical aptitude beneficial.

Work Shift and Hours: Monday - Friday, 8a,-5p, with mandatory attendance required for seminars, sales meetings and other work scheduled outside of normal working hours, in addition to usual functions necessary to complete the job. This is an in office position.

Compensation Details: The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $27.00 per hour depending on experience. This position is also bonus and commission eligible - based on specific and relevant business metrics.
