About the Company

We are a fast-growing, Series A artificial intelligence company building the next generation of enterprise automation and voice superintelligence. Our real-time AI agents understand emotion and resolve enterprise customer experience issues instantly.

Backed by top-tier Silicon Valley investors including Redpoint Ventures and Y Combinatorβ€”we have scaled from 10 to 75 employees in just six months, raised $61M in funding, and already handle over 40,000 daily transactions for Fortune 500 customers. We operate at a true inflection point where speed, pragmatism, and first-principles thinking drive our culture.

Why This Role Shifts Your Career

  • True Green Field Ownership: As our first-ever IT hire, you will build our IT and security infrastructure from scratch. There is no inherited mess to clean up and no rigid corporate playbook to follow.
  • Hyper-Growth Trajectory: You are joining right as our infrastructure becomes critical to supporting massive enterprise scale.
  • A "Zero-Friction" Culture: We value speed over bureaucratic process. If you are tired of over-engineered compliance and rigid corporate silos, you will thrive in our pragmatic, high-autonomy environment.

What You'll Do

As the founding IT leader, you will own the end-to-end IT and security landscape, balancing robust protection with developer velocity.

  • Fleet Management: End-to-end ownership of our Mac/Apple fleet, including automated provisioning, MDM configuration, disk encryption, patch management, and onboarding/offboarding workflows.
  • SaaS & Identity Stack: Administer Google Workspace and our wider core SaaS footprint. Implement and maintain SSO, MFA, SCIM provisioning, and regular least-privilege access reviews.
  • Help Desk & Support: Build out and run day-to-day IT support workflows, selecting the tooling and automation necessary to keep a high-performing team entirely unblocked.
  • Right-Sized Compliance: Author, implement, and support our SOC 2 (or similar) compliance framework, ensuring we meet enterprise security standards without over-engineering the controls.
  • Network & Infrastructure: Secure and optimize our physical San Francisco office network (Wi-Fi, firewalls, VPN, and segmentation) for maximum performance.
  • Vendor & Budget Ownership: Evaluate, procure, and manage our IT vendors, MSPs, and tooling partnerships. Decide what we build in-house versus what we outsource.

Who You Are

We are looking for a scrappy, highly autonomous builder who thrives in fast-paced startup environments.

Critical Requirements

  • Startup DNA: 3+ years of hands-on IT/security experience, ideally as the first or second IT hire at a high-growth tech startup. (Please note: Candidates whose experience is exclusively in large corporate environments or the healthcare/biotech sectors will not be a match for this fast-moving culture).
  • Apple Ecosystem Expert: Deep, production-level experience managing an all-Mac developer fleet using modern MDM and identity platforms (e.g., Rippling, Jamf).
  • Security & Compliance Savvy: Proven experience building or supporting a SOC 2 framework. You understand compliance controls deeply but know how to implement them without adding friction.
  • Technical Breadth: Strong foundational knowledge of Google Workspace administration, network security (firewalls, VPNs), and basic scripting/automation to eliminate manual workflows.
  • First-Principles Thinker: Exceptional high-agency mindset. You can join a company with zero IT structure and confidently decide what needs to be built immediately versus what can wait.
  • Commute & Presence: You must currently reside in the SF Bay Area and be excited to work full-time, 5 days a week, from our Dogpatch office.
