The Opportunity

To analyze billions of fruit on farms year-round, Orchard's tractor-mounted camera systems need to know precisely where they are and everything about what they are seeing. That is the core challenge this role owns.

Orchard is looking for a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to invent practical, robust solutions to real-world perception and localization problems. You will work directly with the CEO and the full team as an early employee, with high ownership over your work and direct visibility into the impact it creates. The environment is fast-moving and hands-on — this is a role for someone who wants to build, not coordinate.

What You'll Do

• •      Develop robotics software running on tractor-mounted, AI-powered camera systems, including advanced perception and localization algorithms
• •      Fuse sensor data from stereo depth, GNSS, and other sources to localize camera systems across complex farm environments
• •      Implement intelligent systems to interpret large volumes of real-world data — each system collects terabytes of raw image data every day
• •      Optimize code for fast edge computing performance in Python and C++
• •      Support different parts of the software and hardware stack as a generalist when needed

You Should Have

• •      4+ years of industry experience in robotics, perception, or localization
• •      Hands-on experience developing robotics software from the ground up
• •      Expertise in one or more of: computer vision, stereo depth perception, pose estimation, object detection, multi-object tracking, image processing, or robotics software
• •      Comfort taking on multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment

Nice to Have

• •      Experience deploying and optimizing robotics algorithms on embedded compute such as NVIDIA Jetson
• •      Familiarity with fusing data from GNSS, IMU, depth cameras, and other sensors

Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary: $150,000 - $250,000, depending on experience, plus 0.1% - 0.25% equity. Comprehensive health, vision, and dental coverage with 100% of premiums covered by the company.
