Position Overview:  

This position will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service by organizing the receiving, storing and sending out of goods. Warehouse Manager provides support and training to warehouse staff while focusing on safety, effectiveness, accuracy, and communication.  

 

Essential Job Functions 

  • Responsible for organizing and prioritizing the daily workflow of the departments to ensure work is completed and no department falls behind 

  • Responsible for making sure all personnel is trained on current policy and procedures for the job, ensuring that staff is cross-trained  

  • Administrative functions such as daily staff meetings, update ADP, approve PTO, employee counseling sessions, interview and hire staff, and coordinate with HR 

  • Safety functions such as ensuring warehouse equipment is working properly, walking the warehouse for any safety issues, hold monthly and quarterly safety meetings  

  • Review monthly reports for your warehouse performance and to identify problem areas  

  • Ensure that operations are running at peak capacity and fully responsible for all inventory 

  • Special projects as needed 

 

Requirements 

  • Fully understand all warehouse procedures and policies 

  • Keep VP Operations and Operations Manager informed of staff performance and status 

  • Supervise staff and work consistent with SSF Employee Handbook, guidelines, policies and procedures 

  • Maintain a professional attitude with all SSF employees, customers, vendors and visitors 

  • Set a good example for the team 

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead diverse teams  

  • Be certified to drive forklift 

  • Have a valid Driver’s License, with clean driving record, insurable by SSF under company policy 

 

Physical Demands 

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds  

  • Repetitive use of hands and arms 

 

Other Skills/Abilities 

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and AS400 

  • Ability to prioritize, attention to detail 

  • Good oral and written communication skills 

  • Excellent interpersonal, supervisory, motivation and team building skills 

 

Education Required 

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
